Profitable business strategy

How to stand out

Starting a business is nowadays very easy and can be done in a few simple steps. The big challenge is to turn it into a profitable business.

Things to consider

1. What makes your business unique? Why should potential clients buy from you and not from your competitors? What are the values your business follows? Is your brand recognizable?

2. Current clients. Those who succeed in business place similar or even bigger attention to their current clients needs than to new potential clients.

3. The main goal. Your main goal should be  concentrating on what the clients really want and give it to them, delivering at the same time the best value rather than concentrating on your own needs and desires. If you just want to get rich and this is the reason why you do business you are on the way to failure.

4. Test and improvement. It’s also important to always test, verify and improve what you do, the products and services you offer. „To do the right things and not the things right” Peter Drucker.

Interesting video

In the below video Simon Sinek z develops the topic of successful business.

From the video you will find out:

  • how can small change in product description dramatically increase the profit,;
  • why and how a small unknown company changed perception of people and became market leader in its industry,
  • how is the society divided regarding consumption choices they make.

What about you?

Is your business profitable? What is your business strategy?

    Hi Justyna,

I want to ask about current clients. You said that it’s more appropriate to give more attention to current clients which is true, but wouldn’t it be unfair for those who are new clients? I mean, in my own perspective, I guess paying similar attention to current clients and more attention in new clients will be good to increase the number of avid clients in your site. Well, it’s just my opinion though. Anyway, the tips you shared certainly helps. Thanks for sharing this.

      Hi Farrell,

thanks for your comment. In that matter I wrote about “similar or bigger attention to current clients” and not just bigger attention only. What I meant also is that current clients already use your products and services, so the key is to constantly deliver great value to them and think what else they would need, what other complimentary service they would require.

What we sometimes experience from different companies is that they are great and offer so much value to attract you to become their client. But as soon as you are one, problems happen and the value of services diminish over the time.

    Hello Justyna,

Your post is very interesting, by my experience I can tell that you are true. According to me Test and improvement is the best advice you can give, improving your sells pages by testing a lot of things on it is very important!

Another thing I would say, the main goal is a very good advice but I think this goal had to evolve in the time and follows the market… You can for example start a social network about fish and evolve to a ecommerce which sells all kind of pets foods, if you see a market opportunitie…

What do you think about that ?

PS : thanks for the video 🙂 And sorry for my english wich is not very well…

Hi Nice Post. The brand is king, which is why big corporations will go to very expensive lengths to protect their brands. Picking up on your point, your business may be like many others but it can be differentiated by a unique brand identity. That’s why I drink Coke rather than Rola Cola. Cheers John

Well I think it is not that easy to build brand. You have to work years in order to establish and prove something worthy in order to build trust to your consumers.
