As the WordPress platform user you have enormous choice of different themes to use for your blog. The good news is that most of them are free. There are currently 1,476 free themes for wp in WordPress repository and you can easily choose the right theme for you.
However, the downside of using a free theme is:
- you don’t get free professional support,
- you don’t get premium SEO solutions which are incorporated in most of the paid WordPress themes,
- many of the free themes don’t offer any upgrades.
Best SEO theme
I was lucky to start my WordPress experience with Thesis. It was recommended to me by James Schramko, as the best SEO theme. All of my blogs and websites run now on Thesis.
Thesis gives you excellent SEO framework: from easy to navigate dashboard you can manage: meta data, statistics, subscriptions, robots meta, redirection and many more. What’s more, Thesis loads extremely fast, which is one of the factors Google uses in their algorithms. Thesis enables you to create any type of website you want and there are plenty of beautiful skins, which you can use to build fancy blogs and websites.
Chris Pearson – the author of Thesis and his team keep working on improving this best SEO theme. They have just released version 1.8.3, which adds:
- even faster loading time,
- better header image and favicon uploading options,
- WP network support.
