Internet Business Blog

Having your own blog can be an exciting experience. Obviously it’s a platform for you to share your hobbies, personal stories or even build an internet marketing or other kind of online business. Whatever your blog is for, it’s a good idea to make it visible to the online community, to engage others in discussions going on in your blog and to build relationships with other internet users. It is definitely much more rewarding and pleasurable to see others’ interest in your blog than just writing for yourself and not getting any feedback.

How to drive more traffic to your blog?
There are many internet marketing strategies to help you have a stronger online presence and get more visits to your blog. Here are six strategies that I recommend:

1. Valuable content
I deliberately start with this one, as content is an absolute must to attract visitors to your blog. You need to create valuable, useful and reliable content, so that others will find it interesting and worth spending their time reading it.
Think about what people would be interested in learning about and keep in mind that your posts shouldn’t be too long or you risk losing their attention.  Use some multimedia content as well, such as images, videos or audio files.

2. Make comments on other blogs
This is a great way to increase your blog’s exposure to the online community. Remember, however, that it is important to leave valuable, interesting comments on other blogs—no one likes a spam comment! Another important thing is to comment back on blogs of those who wrote something on yours. This is a nice way to thank them for their comment and can be a great way to build friendly relations with other bloggers.

3. Article traffic
This is one of the most powerful internet marketing strategies to get more traffic! You can submit your articles to various article directories and leave links to your blog. This way not only you are getting more traffic to your blog but you build “juicy” backlinks too :). You might consider such high-ranked and reliable article directories as:

These are only some of them. The best part is, they’re all FREE. All you need to do is open an account with them and then simply start your submissions. It is important to change the title and rewrite each article before submitting it or you might get banned by Google for duplicate content. You may want, however, to consider saving time by using the services of to do all these manual rewrites and submissions. It is a great way to automate your article submissions for a very reasonable price of only $49 per month. With this service, you will be able to use their tools to rewrite your articles and they will submit them for you to:

4. Participate in social networking sites
If you’ve got an account on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or other social networking sites, you know what I’m talking about. These platforms have millions of users from all over the world who are looking for information and want to share their interests and exchange ideas. Engage in discussions, let others get to know you, and share your stories. By the way, feel free to join me on Facebook and Twitter to get to know me better!

5. Participate in forums
You can currently find forums on almost every topic you want. Some of them are paid services but most of them are free. By opening up your account, you can create your own profile and create a link to your blog. Be sure to read the rules of such forums so you don’t get banned for certain practices. Always leave valuable comments and help others whenever you have something interesting and reliable to share. This way, you build your credibility and attract more visitors to your blog.

6. Submit your blog posts to various social bookmarking sites
These are places which have millions of users, who share their stories, experience, videos and images free of charge. By writing an interesting title, summary and linking back to your blog posts, you can attract many new visitors to your blog.
Here are some popular social bookmarking sites:

As you can see, there is a lot you can do to increase traffic to your blog, and these are only some of the internet marketing strategies available to increase traffic. If you feel you have other more interesting things to do and would rather ask someone else to do it for you, you can always outsource these activities to a reliable company.  Here here all about one of the best, most reliable and effective SEO services offered by James Schramko.

Do article directories still work? I mean after the google update (panda)? Article directories are considered to be content farms and they are less important for google…

    • Justyna June 4, 2011, 9:17 am

Yes, of course they work. The good article directories are still valuable source of great articles and people do read them and also publish them on their blogs. This way you not only get more traffic but valuable backlinks. They are still valuable even though they are less important for Google. It is also important to get backlinks spread over various places and article marketing is still one of such marketing channels.

    Great Post!
I agree. I feel that the first paragraph – offer value – is the most important. If you submit junk content to article bases, social networks, and comment on other blogs linking back to junk content – then none of it matters.

Offering value to your readers/subscribers is key to staying alive! 🙂

Justyna! i agree with the point that social media websites are the most important source of attracting traffic to the website. With the help of social media we not only project our products and services but also interact with our clients and customers. thanks for the thought provoking article.
